It has a 4.3 "LCD screen for easy viewing in the car, the TomTom XL 330 and XL 330S Plug-and-play ease of use, rock-solid navigation, design and aesthetics, we expect from TomTom. Both models come pre-loaded with highly detailed maps for the United States and Canada, with TomTom Map Share technology, which lets you instantly modify street names, street direction and POIs on your device. Both models share the same navigation and the user interface. Howerver, the XL 330S adds text-speak, which means that instead of hearing "turn right in 50 feet", you hear "turn right in 50 feet at Ohio Street. [...]

Distances good amount of information on the screen (currently estimated time of arrival, direction, time / distance to turn). Here are the steps to get out or to change direction, rather than the tortuous path of light as Garmin does. Perhaps one of my favorite compared to a Garmin. Active Media Guide grphic overlay. I used this function to load a portion of a topo map that was covered path Applacian exported from Google Earth and using the application of the tires. Helped a little 'walk, but see below. Computer voice is clear and sufficiently precise. Seemed a little 'strange, but when you pronounce the street names in Spanish in Puerto Rico.
Cons:
Number one is that with this device stops automatically when the car charger / power cord is removed. Neck pain to remember to turn off the camera when you leave the car. I liked more time, which makes everything stand out more for car thieves. Sometimes it is completely out of sync with the card, when the signal is acquired. A driver distraction is to restore unity, etc. Point of Interest search does not list all the details on each list (not common) to what happens in an ad. Again, a distraction while driving.

The battery, I thought it was lithium-ion battery, dropped almost to zero load when used in near freezing conditions. It 'been a pain during a tour with her. Technically, this is not a paradise for hikers GPS units do, but do not have a battery and how to walk, which is what I'm doing well .. I suspect those who use it to navigate a city in winter would have the same problems. In comparison, the iPhone 3G My friend has worked better in this area. Map of animation is not so. The combination of character attributes full fluids used (size, type, aliasing, etc.), makes the reading of names of the streets while driving more difficult than Garmin. I do not know why not make this customizable. Probably some type of license.
N. park trails, as my wife, much older than Tom Tom One (large bulky blue tooth). Overall, these models are forced to be substantially improved and lower prices to compete with GPS functionality that will be included free with the phone.

Raja Alomari ( MI USA ) Hello, I have the TomTom 330S from Amazon. And well, I used several times to go abroad. There is a general problem with GPSS is not really 100% effective in terms of orientation, so that it can result in a bad way to get there. However, you will get :-)
I thought (s), the model will be the name of the streets, as described, but no. However, this GPS is good for the money. I love and recommend to others. Thanks

Kathy Brintzenhofe ( Ft Worth Tx ) They had a few on Amazon that is supposed to be new and refurbished, then right again and nothing new has been renewed, so I returned for a refund. I do not like to waste time and money on something like that.

Q: Garmin nuvi 255w or TomTom XL 330S?
A: Best Buy has both of these on sale for $99 with free shipping. They are about the same in my opinion but I purchased the TomTom because it comes with a car charger and case. I also like the look of the TomTom better. Either way, they are both good basic GPS devices at reduced prices. Earlier in the year they went for $200-$300.
