After reading everybody else's reviews of this product I was still a little skeptical about it; but, I ordered it anyway. I am sooo glad I did! This thing is awesome. I haven't been able to get it to budge yet, and I've tried. Unless you're driving an Indy car I would recommend this mount for anybody.

I received my mount yesterday and mounted my three year old Magellan Roadmate to the mount on my Dodge Van. The curve of the dash did not allow very much direct contact with the mount, but it holds just fine. The Magellan held just fine to the mount on a five mile trip.

This morning I went out to the car to find the GPS on the floor of the car. The temperature last night here in Maryland was in the upper 20s. I cleaned the suction cup with alcohol and also cleaned the smooth mounting surface on the mount. The suction cup will not grip the mount in my cold van.

I purchased the mount because the GPS kept falling off my windscreen. It appears that the actual problem is/was the suction cup is no longer working well. (Don't see how to buy one separately.)

I like the mount - and in fact I'm going to super Glue the suction cup to the mount.

This base certainly makes using the Tom Tom a lot easier. A couple of issues with the unit, the eyelet sewn at the back of the base and its associated hook. The reason I purchased this item, was my car was broken into due to the ring left by the suction cup on the windscreen. That is now to be replaced by a fixed visible hook, if used thieves will certainly notice this transition. I have a 720 and the provided suction cup mount has to be fitted forward on the mount due to the overhang of the screen - maybe Tom Tom could increase the height of the supplied suction mount to negate this problem.

Bought this for the Garmin 7200 (7-inch screen). The Garmin 7200 comes with the back support that slides into this beanbag and locks. I wondered if this item would be able to properly support the large size and weight of the 7200, but it works like a charm. Placed it on the dash of a Ford Explorer and had no problems driving from Delaware to Indiana and even through the curvy mountain roads of West Virginia.

I use it with a Garmin StreetPilot 7200, which is a fairly large, even somewhat clunky GPS with a large 7-inch screen. The screen does vibrate just a bit when going down the road, but nothing major. I have it sitting on the dash of an Armada, inside a slightly crevassed area just to the right of my steering wheel/main console. It sits perfectly, so I can see it with my bi-focal sunglasses and still clearly see the road. I have had no problems with it sliding off or tipping. It has a locking mechanism at the bottom, which I cannot slide over to lock the mount connection because the Garmin GPS is already wedged so tightly into the beanbag mount; no big deal though...doubt I would use it anyway, I don't see the need since it fits so securely without it. It is a well-made beanbag mount that I think will last a while and I got it for a great price here on Amazon.

I have a 2007 Honda Civic. My dashboard is very strange and really leaves no place to use the suction cup on my GPS. It easily fits in a corner of my dash next to my speedometer. Stays in place very well. Bean bag is very heavy and the bottom is made of some kind of high friction material and does not move at all, even when cornering. Not too big and bulky and it works well with the Garmin suction cup (even if the cups are bad and sometimes cause the start to this assembly) Great product.

This work, as advertised and also for the two models I tested the Garmin. The easily adjustable up and down and sideways. It 'also easy to install and sits comfortably and securely on top of the dashboard inside the vehicle. The only minor thing to note is that the dashboard of the machine can vibrate in different ways the windshield is not like going over rough surfaces. This difference in motion if there can be something that you look into your Garmin. But this is not a product defect, it's just something to be aware of how you mounted device to another component on your vehicle (dashboard against the windscreen). But really no big deal, just a little less.

I just received my Garmin and get together for a week, but I like it. I am only 5 feet tall and have a touch of very deep and it was difficult for me to get the GPS to make changes, when I borrowed my son and used the Garmin windshield. This prompted me to buy this mountain with my Garmin. I can place it where ever needed for it to be convenient for me to reach and when I leave the vehicle I can place the mount under the seat and take the gps with me in the case that I also purchased.

The product was delivered on time and I have no problems using it expect for it keeps falling off the windshield after a while. so I have to wet the suction a little bit for it to stay longer on the windshield. Wolud love to have something sturdier for a change. This my third buy. I would def recommend it.

I remember when battling between the Garmin and the TomTom that many of the pro reviewers pointed out that the Garmin's mount is superior. How much of a diff could it make, I thought. Well, it's true... the mount is not great. It sticks to some windows, not others. Mine has now kind of fallen apart at the joint... probably a result of trying to push it onto the window harder and harder in hopes that it would stick. The reality is that Garmin's mounts stick to anything. They're dramatically better... and yes, I have this low-level but very real frustration that in the last couple years, at least, TomTom hasn't bothered to improve this crucial product. My next GPS may end up being a Garmin, and this may be the difference in the pros/cons column that sends me there... And yes, bundling it with a car charger is just plain goofy.

This windshield mount worked fine the first couple months I had it. It held my tomtom GO 720 on my windshield very securely, but I keped it in one place and never removed the suction mount from the windshield. It took quite a bit of force to pull it off the windshield the first time I tried to take it off (which was probably after more than a month of being continuously on my windshield). However, when I started traveling a lot such that I was using the mount in many different people's cars and rental cars, the continual mounting, unmounting, and remounting brought it to the point where the mount wouldn't last even one car ride without falling off. I washed the mount and it started to work ok again, so I found that I have to continually and carefully clean the suction mount and the windshield to make sure I have a secure mount. Unfortunately, that is not always easy to do with all the traveling in different vehicles that I do.

So my conclusion is this:

-If you plan to use this mount in only one vehicle, and plan to just leave the mount on the windshield without disturbing it after it's been installed, this mount will probably work well for you (which is probably why some people have reported good experiences with it). Just make sure the suction piece and the windshield is clean when you first position the mount, and the mount will stay secure.
-If you plan to repeatedly mount, unmount, and remount this unit, on a daily or weekly basis, where there's exposure to dust, dirt and oil (even in very small quantities) you will probably want to look for something else

For me, the second circumstance is what I'm in, so it doesn't work well for me, and the unit has become very frustrating. The type of mounting system that Garmin uses which has a locking mechanism works infinitely better for my circumstances.

Consumer opinion
This is the same OEM bracket/suction cup that originally came with my TomTom GPS. Not the best suction to the windshield, but if you wet the disk before fixing to the window, it helps. Unfortunately, TomTom felt it necessary to bundle the bracket with an extra accessory cord which I didn't need. I guess they make more money that way. I called TomTom and asked about obtaining a replacement bracket, but this bundle was the only option. They didn't offer to replace it. I thought for a $400+ unit, that they may have replaced it for me. I'll keep that in mind when I buy my next GPS!

I bought this Carmount 18 months. E 'for fun! I used maybe 10 times and the piece of plastic that holds the sucker in the place stopped. I called TomTom to see if we could anythink about this, and of course, was only a guarantee for 1 years, like: "Sorry, we can not do anything for you" is what Don 'he said! do not buy !!!!!

I am very happy to finally be able to connect my TomTom Rider 2nd Edition in my car. The assembling of cars under consideration includes not only equipped with a charger that plugs into the cigarette lighter, it also has a speakerphone. The only drawback I saw is that the volume becomes very large, so that you can not get much radio, if you want to hear the instructions clearly. Enjoy!

The assembly machine was not removed from the package of 30 seconds and broke. There are 3 small screws that connect the speaker / mount the swivel base. The plastic between the screw completely broke the first time I tried to move the pivot. However, the 2-part epoxy solved the problem, and is operational. As others have said, the quality of the speaker is good and, with the strength epoxy, the rotation works. Essential for me is this - for a bit 'of money' more than I could have another complete GPS speaker. I tried too hard to maximize the use of pilot "2." Do not bother me.

The assembly is constructed and fitted with a sheet of good quality charger. Comes with an adhesive plate to mount Dash. The suction cup works best. Headset is acceptable for normal use. It would have been nice if the unit has an audio line-out. A microphone to use the mountain as a handsfree device would have given 5 stars.

He looked and worked well, but one day the mountain only to fall to pieces, which is screwed togather. He looked again, but im wondering if it could be a second or rejected by the factory inspectorate. I mounted one days left and only fall on the dashboard.
