This is my second Nuvi, so just plug and go was not a problem. The graphics are lighter, and without checking whether I am watch that the monitor displays more colors. Being able to give voice commands is a new feature that I use regularly. It works surprisingly well, considering the road noise that the device is facing. I am very happy that the audible player in this version. I noticed some of the more recent Nuvis Audible. Would be a deal-breaker for me. The hour of work, and I have a book to hear more about the boredom that make me crazy.

The voice of the American woman (which I call 'Hilary') is the voice that the Nuvi before. I liked when she said, "Recalculating" when you did not follow their instructions. The tone seemed to add: thin, imperfect human. But a recent update jolified her voice. On the negative side, I had to stop three or four times. Rebooting fixes the problem. The batteries drain quickly. I suppose this Nuvi uses more electricity than my old fact.

Garmin knows how to make a great GPS.

This is a wonderful little gps navigator. And the basic number 800 series, which means it has the same engine as the more expensive units, with some of the whistles and bells, and still has all that is necessary and important. It highly accurate and fast. I love the feature that remembers where you left the car when I take him out of his cradle and guide me well for my car if you need. When I go to a place in a shopping complex or large as a hospital that I can keep the exact location of where I am and instead of using an address that can sometimes be vague.

For example, when I visit a major hospital here with various items, which will take me right to the parking lot I chose to do in a library. The voice recognition works very well. I never touch the unit to perform any of the many options available to me. For example, while I drive I can drive through voice activated commands to take me to the nearest Burger King, Hampton Inn, both as standard or as a new destination.

I believe that the volume of the unit enough, but I prefer to hear the directions through my car's audio system. Since my FM antenna is located on the back of the car's FM of GPS device does not work very well. I bought one of these little FM transmitters, and is connected to the audio output of the GPS and it works very well. If you have an audio input for your car's FM transmitter, simply connect the GPS directly to it. All in all, I am very happy with this unit and am happy to recommend to anyone that interested in adding a GPS system for your car, or replace an older gps like me.

I got this GPS for my husband's birthday b/c that is a businessman and always go to a new house every other day. Not think that there would be no need, but before he used it absolutely loved it. He said it was perfect for him and he uses every day. He said that voice commands are the best part b/c that does not need to stop and play with the GPS.
