E. Talik ( Ketchikan, AK ) Very good for Alaska, where we have difficulty in collecting satellites (which tend to be very low on the horizon). Add to the mix of some very big mountains and a thick canopy of Sitka Spruce, hemlock, and cedar, and you begin to see problems of hikers and geocaching support. Adding top Alaska is great, because it provides all types of driving and hiking vital information. Fuel, and the Forest Service Ranger Stations, tracks and all Alaskans help keep us going in the right direction when we need it. I downloaded this information into my Nuvi 350 and the state became my playground. Remember, this is a state that is about 1 / 3 the size of the entire United States. Of course, as we only have 41 people living here. This piece is a device robust, reliable and accurate. Now if I can just start pointing me the gold, we'd be in business!
Cons: Have to order from out of state, so shipping costs soar. It does not point to gold. It would be neat if this device had a distress locator beacon like they have with boats. One push of the button and help is on the way. I guess you could register the unit so searchers could find your last location. I digress. Another con, no coffe cup holder.

Serious Shopper ( Charlotte, NC ) It will be a good amount of research on GPS for hiking and geocaching. This model really stood out. I have owned for exactly one week. There is a learning curve, to be willing to spend some 'time to read the manual and testing of features. I used it on a 6 hours walk this weekend, especially to make waypoints and collect data on the promenade. E 'was fabulous. Not used for Retrack or geocache yet, but my journey initial trial was extraordinarily rewarding. I did not buy the extra maps yet - to be an accessory, I'm sure. A really great toy.
