I used this device and relied on it to travel to Illinois from Minnesota, and it worked like a charm. It has the bare to the bones necessities that you would need when traveling, and they work great. I love having someone tell me to turn when I need to when traveling through long 300 mile interstates and in town roads. Thank you tom tom.

but once you do, it is great the only anoying thing is the Tom voice which is the only voice that gives you the street names, I will see if there is a possibility of purchasing another voice, I recommend it to anyone that is going on a trip to a new city but I also recommend to keep a map in your car. Why? because it is very useful too and we shouldn't be relaying on computers for everything :)

I bought this for the price and haven't been disappointed. It's a small-ish screen, but it works well for me. I find the street name pronunciation to be an essential feature, even if the voice isn't always immediately intelligible.

While the unit works, it does not have some of the features TomTom's website indicates it should have. This is not Amazon's fault--TomTom's website advertises features not contained in the units, no matter who you purchase it from.

There is no email address to contact TomTom and customer service (phone) indicated "You're Right", when I pointed out the features were not on the unit. When I finally found an email to the company, they also agreed the unit does not have the features advertised but refused to do anything about it. They recommended I pursue it with Amazon. BBB has been contacted for assistance.

Suggest you purchase a Garmin or Magellan unit instead for better customer support.
